Lucky Living Support Services is not a generalist provider. We're a specialist team with deep roots in mental health — built specifically to support people living with psychosocial disability, and led by a team with 15+ years of frontline experience across Brisbane.
This isn't general disability support. This is specialist care.
Most NDIS providers cover everything. We chose not to.
By focusing exclusively on psychosocial disability, our team brings a depth of understanding that generalist providers simply can't match — in who we hire, how we train, and how we show up on the hard days.
Every path different · every path supported
01
We understand the complexity
Psychosocial disability isn't linear. Recovery has good days and hard days, and our team is trained to meet you wherever you are — without judgment, and without renegotiating your supports every time things shift.
02
Trained and experienced
Our leadership team holds formal qualifications in psychology and has spent years on the front lines of mental health and disability support in Brisbane. That knowledge shapes who we hire and how we brief them.
03
Small enough to care, qualified enough to help
We're not a large corporation processing referrals. We're a dedicated team that knows your name, your goals, and your story — and whoever replies to your email already knows your situation.
Our background
Built by people who truly understand psychosocial disability.
Lucky Living was founded by someone with over 15 years of hands-on experience supporting people living with psychosocial disability and complex mental health conditions across Brisbane.
Before founding Lucky Living, our leadership spent years working directly with individuals experiencing serious mental illness — in homes, in hospitals, and in the gaps between services where people usually fall. That frontline insight shapes everything we do today.

Our specialisation
Psychosocial disability is all we do.
We provide the same core supports you'll see on other providers' lists. The difference is that every hour of our experience — fifteen-plus years of it — comes from mental health.
It changes who we hire, how we roster, what our workers notice, and what happens on the hard days. This section is about exactly that.
Plain language
What is psychosocial disability?
Psychosocial disability is the term used when a mental health condition results in a significant, ongoing impact on a person's ability to participate in everyday life.
It can affect social relationships, employment, self-care, and community involvement — and it is recognised by the NDIS as a disability that qualifies for funded support. Unlike many disabilities, it can fluctuate, which is why consistent support from a team that truly understands mental health makes all the difference.
Where it can come from
One term. Many conditions. We've worked with them all.
Psychosocial disability can arise from a wide range of mental health conditions — episodic and constant, widely understood and widely misjudged. Our team's fifteen-plus years on the front line span that full range.
What matters to the NDIS isn't the name of a diagnosis — it's how a condition affects your daily life. Whatever yours is called, you'll never be asked to share more than you're comfortable with, and we can help you work out whether you're eligible.
What we understand
How it actually shows up, day to day.
It fluctuates
Capacity changes week to week — sometimes day to day. A plan built for your best week fails in most of the others, so ours are built for the swing, not the average.
It's invisible
There's no equipment and no obvious marker, so people are forever asked to prove it. We start from belief — you'll never have to convince us you're struggling.
Motivation is a symptom
When the will to start disappears, that's the condition at work — not laziness, not rudeness. We adjust the approach instead of judging the person.
Starting is the hardest part
Executive function makes "simple" tasks anything but — sequencing, deciding, beginning. We break things into steps and start alongside you, without taking over.
The social battery is real
Connection supports recovery, but it costs energy. We plan the exit as carefully as the outing, so saying yes never becomes a trap.
Environment matters
Noise, crowds, new places and unfamiliar people can overwhelm. We pace, prepare and keep things predictable — same faces, same times, no surprises.

At Lucky Living
You don't answer the door
Log a cancelled shift and move on to the next address.
Follow the steps we agreed with you in advance — a message, a pause, another knock, and the check-in you chose.
A hard week hits
Reduce the service, or escalate it into a crisis response.
Same worker, same time, smaller asks. Nothing renegotiated, nothing punished.
Motivation disappears
Mark it as disengagement or non-compliance.
Recognise a symptom, and change the approach — not the judgment.
Worker matching
Send whoever is free on the roster that day.
Treat consistency as clinical — familiar faces, planned handovers, no strangers at the door.
Measuring progress
Count attendance and completed tasks.
Measure against your goals and your definition of a good life — hard months don't reset the count.
These rows describe patterns participants commonly tell us about — not any one provider.
Recovery-oriented practice
Recovery as a journey, not a destination
We believe in recovery — not as a finish line, but as a personal journey. Our support is designed to move with you, not push you.
Trauma-informed approach
Safe, predictable, and empowering
Our team understands the role trauma plays in mental health and disability. We create safe, predictable, and empowering support environments — same workers, same times, no surprises.
Strengths-based, always
We start with what you can do
We start with what you can do and build from there. Every plan centres on your goals, your strengths, and your definition of a good life.
NDIS navigation support
We help you read your own plan
The NDIS can be complex, especially for psychosocial disability. We help you understand your plan and connect you with the right supports.
Not sure if you or someone you care for qualifies? Talk to our team — we're happy to help you understand your eligibility, and we'll tell you honestly even when the answer is no.
Core supports, delivered by psychosocial specialists.
All six services below sit within our NDIS core supports registration — the same groups you’ll find on any provider’s list.
What’s different is who turns up, and what they understand when they get there. Every support is delivered by workers briefed and trained specifically for psychosocial disability.
Assistance with daily living
Practical, respectful support with everyday tasks — from morning routines and meal preparation to household management — delivered by workers who understand mental health — and who know that on some days, the routine itself is the win.
Core supports
Community participation
Support to engage in your community, build social connections, and take part in activities that bring meaning and joy to your life — at your pace, with the exit planned as carefully as the outing.
Core supports
Social & civic participation
We help you connect with others, access community groups, and take part in civic life — reducing isolation and building the relationships that support recovery.
Core supports
Transport assistance
Support getting to appointments, activities, and community events — with familiar workers doing the pickups, because an unfamiliar face on a low day can end an outing before it starts.

Questions
The things people actually ask us.
If yours isn't here, send it through — we'd rather answer it properly than have you guess.
You need evidence that a mental health condition causes a substantial, ongoing impact on your daily functioning. That usually comes from a treating psychiatrist, psychologist or GP. A diagnosis alone isn't the test — the impact is. If you're unsure what evidence you have, we can talk it through before you apply.
They will — that's the nature of psychosocial disability, and we build for it. Your support plan sets out in advance what happens on harder weeks so nothing has to be renegotiated in a crisis. If the change is bigger than your funding allows, we'll help you gather what's needed for a plan reassessment.
Yes. We work with self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed participants. As a registered provider we can invoice any of the three, and we'll set the billing up in whichever way makes your life easiest.
Tell us and we'll change it — no explanation required and nothing awkward attached. Fit matters more in psychosocial support than almost anywhere else, and a mismatch is a rostering problem, not your problem.
Yes. Family members, carers, coordinators and clinicians contact us regularly on someone's behalf. We'll always confirm the participant's own consent before we start supports, because your choice of provider is yours to make.
Email us and we'll acknowledge it quickly and tell you what we're doing about it. You can also go straight to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission at any time, without telling us first — that's your right, and using it will never affect your supports here.
Psychosocial disability is one of the most misunderstood areas of the NDIS. We built Lucky Living to change that — one participant at a time.
